As per research this could be the worlds first shivling
AThis temple has a very unique shivling which
actually resembles the formation of the
Shrusti. The main importance of the temple lies in
the Linga which is housed in the Garbhagriha of the
temple and considered unique for its naturalistic
depection. This is supposed to be the earliest Linga
discovered so far and it has been assigned to the 3rd
century BCE.
Actually this shivling resembles thrimurty as agora Brahmma, Vishnu as Parasurama & Lord shiva in the form of Lingam
The architect of this temple is very unique from the entire south Indian architecture where this shiva linga is placed inside the stomach of an elephant.
